In the Cleveland Plain Dealer blog, reporter John Petkovic wrote about the origins of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sandwiched between the seminal influences of Universal Monsters and sci-fi kitsch, Petkovic featured this tidbit:Pinup bondage queens: In the 1950s, New York photographer Irving Klaw spawned the careers of Bettie Page and other garter-and-lingerie pinup queens by shooting them in campy scenes full of whips and spanking and high heels.
